CNC Machinist - Day Shift

This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The CNC Machinist will interpret blueprints and technical drawings, load and unload materials, verify dimensions using precision measuring tools, and ensure finished parts meet quality standards. This role also includes routine machine maintenance, inventory support, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

We are excited to announce that DeGeest is opening a second location in Northwest Sioux Falls beginning in June. This position will have the opportunity to work between our main facility in Tea or our new Sioux Falls location as operations expand, supporting production and growth across both sites.

Shift:
Our shop hours for this position are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday (You can get your 40 hours in during this window of time, and overtime is available)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and operating CNC machining equipment
  • Loading and unloading raw materials and finished parts
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specifications
  • Measuring and verifying part dimensions using precision tools
  • Inspecting finished products for quality compliance
  • Performing routine machine maintenance
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Supporting inventory and production needs as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of CNC machining experience required
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is eligible for a bonus.
